G.W. Gibson High School
Garretson W. Gibson Elementary School was founded in 1968 as a part of the Monrovia Consolidated School System (M.C.S.S.) under the Ministry of Education. Students attended G. W. Gibson Elementary School from the 4th to the 5th grade and transferred to Newport Junior high to further their education. G. W. Gibson was named after the 14th President who served Liberia from 12/11/1900 to 01/4/1904.

William V.S. Tubman H.S.
In 1967, William V. S. Tubman High School was built and equipped through the joint partnership of the government and the San Francisco State College. Its motto is "Loyalty and Patriotism". From the late sixties to the eighties, Tubman High had a reputation for quality education and discipline and was considered the most modern high school in Liberia, and West Africa as a whole.
